What do you think is the cause of under-organizing in marginalized communities?
I’ve learned that contemporary organizing suffers from a structural disconnection. Too many groups and movements have lost trust, agency, and scalability due to: (1) Over-reliance on symbolic leadership over real participant consensus. (2) Absence of mutual communication agreements between affected communities and movement leaders. (3) Erosion and abandonment of metrics that measure engagement, impact, and consent. This vacuum has allowed unauthorized narratives to shape policy, dilute causes, and disempower the very individuals that movements claim to represent.
